You only life once!
I'm Ian Schreiber a soon to be American foriegn exchange student in Valencia, Spain next month. I also founded a Culinary Club :3
Hi

the-absolute-funniest-posts: Follow this blog, you will love it on your dashboard

As weird as that may sound, I enjoy our very friendly, pompous ways.

Let’s hope I still feel the same exactly one week from today once I’m all settled down in Spain. As a matter of fact, by this time next week, I’ll be home from my first day of my new school there. :)

m-c-d: Ian asked me to paint a place in Amsterdam for him a few months back. He specifically mentioned the cobblestone, and if I could put texture into it, and how colourful it is there, and of course the bikes (he’s been privileged enough to travel there). I used salt for the cobblestone, which was supafun, the rest is gouache, marker, acrylic, ink, and tempera. There are certain things about this that I don’t like though, I’m thinking someday I’ll fix them.  I love you more than you know, my Mehrie<3
*These are in no order.

A. What are the five things that you are most looking forward to about studying abroad?

1. Learning to speak Spanish fluently.

2. Making new lifelong friends.

3. Experiencing life as a Spaniard.

4. Learning how to live independently (to a degree)

5. Growing as an individual intellectually, physically, and mentally.

B. What are the five things that currently worry you most about going overseas?

1. Not “fitting” in or making any friends.

2. Failing all of my Spanish classes.

3. Not living up to my host family’s expectations or getting along with them.

4. Having a harder time adjusting than expected.

5. Learning how to care for myself, in another language too!

C. What are the five things (people, places, activities, etc.) you believe you will miss most from home when abroad?

1. My grandparents, my parents, my dog and my best friends. (I’ll figure out who I truly miss once I leave :P )

2. Having movie nights on friday nights with the “gang”.

3. Biking with my friends out and about on adventures.

4. CULINARY CLUB.

5. My built up life here in Cooper City.

D. What are the five things (people, places, activities, etc.) you believe you will miss least from home when abroad?

1. Everyone from Culinary Club.

2. Cooper City High School.

3. A lot of my cousins. ( lol ;] )

4. All my rules and restrictions at home.

5. The constant heat.

E. My greatest single challenge overseas will be:

Starting off completely new, fitting in, adapting and succeeding in Spanish!

So I haven’t been up on here lately but some new events have occurred. I got relocated to Valencia with a wonderful family of 5! I’ve been talking to the oldest brother a lot on Facebook lately and he’s been making me feel a bit more welcomed so far as we’re already talking about our plans adventuring throughout Gandia together and going to school. Even his girlfriend added me on Facebook lol. But also, I’ve tied of most of my affairs as I leave such as settling the culinary club which has lately been full of inconsiderate … but I’m sure Zoey will keep things in check and I can always check in on Skype to see how everyone’s doing. Another thing is I finally turned in my visa application last month but it’s still not ready yet. I’m starting to get worried! But I’m hoping for the best. Though it’s only 15 tedious days away from my departure it still seems a bit surreal but whenever I think about it too long I get way too excited and anxious. I don’t know much about my school yet except that it’s a private school with no uniforms ;) , and that it is apparently a very rigorous and challenging course but hopefully I’ll adapt quickly enough to keep up with everyone as I’m starting in the middle of the year there. But until next time Tumblr & everyone, thanks for reading!
